Site Updates   Back
Not Dead!  (01/03/08)

Well, I know it's been forever and a day since I've last updated the site.

I do apologize for that. 2007 was a lot busier than I ever could have imagined. In fact, 2008 is only going to get worse!

Not only will I be trying to get back into shape, but I will be attempting to qualify for 2009 worlds after 2 years of almost no disc golf. It's going to be difficult but I'm up for the challenge.

Speaking of challenges! A new addition to the family will be coming this summer as well. The wife and I are expecting our first child July 1. That should make qualifying all the more difficult, but hopefully, I can get enough points before then that I can transition to practice instead of tourneys.

Will have to see!

ALSO?

I know I've promised it for years, but I am hoping to get this site updated into more of a blog type site soon. It should be simple to modify the existing site to fit that criteria. Will have to see though.

Bboard offline.  (01/01/07)

Well the original bulletin board is being retired. My new host offers PHPBB2 for free so I might as well take advantage of it. Expect this to roll out in the next few weeks (I want to make it look right for the site first). There are also going to be new changes to the site as a whole coming this year (I promise).

Bboard update slowly rolling out  (01/09/04)

Well, since I've been in a good mood and have had some free time, I've started to do some updates to the bulletin board.

First up are some minor graphics changes. I'm trying my hand at art again, and so far it hasn't turned out too bad.

After art class is over I will be improving the message form so that you will be able to highlight a section of text and hit the formatting buttons and it will place the necessary code around your highlighted text (this will not work for netscape 4.7x browsers).

I'm also going to add a private messaging section to the board. Nothing like the old instant messenger (at least not immediately), but more of a small internal email client for the bboard. You will be able to send messages to specific indiviuals, and they will be able to reply or forward your message just like an email to other board members. These changes will appear as I get each one done, so make sure to keep checking back.

Site move a success!!!  (01/06/04)

Well we are finally set back up at our new hosting facility and everything is working beautifully!!! I couldn't be happier at the moment.

I am so sorry that the site was down for so long over christmas, but the fighting and screaming at our old hosting facility is no longer an issue!

This is a new version of our application software that we have never used before so be sure to let me know if you find any errors. You can send all errors to webmaster@discgolferusa.com.

Problems  (01/05/04)

Sorry that the site has been down. We are having problems with our hosting facility and will be moving discgolferUSA.com to a new facility here in the next couple of days. I was able to get the site up (partially) for the time being. If you have problems using parts of it, don't worry, all of that will be corrected when we get moved. I am going to be purchasing the new setup tomorrow, and hopefully we will have everything up and going by the middle of the week, it might take till the weekend though.

Again, sorry about the downtime!

Recent Forum Problems  (12/23/03)

It was brought to my attention last night that some people were experiencing errors when trying to make posts to the bulletin board. Our hosting provider just made some changes to the server we are on and they say that the problem should be resolved. If you continue to have a problem please email me at dgusa@discgolferusa.com and I will continue to work with them to rectify the problem.

More Disc Guide Updates!  (10/08/03)

Well, while we finish writing up some of our most recent product reviews, Hogan and I decided to tackle some more updates to the disc guide. We have now updated the Innova, and Gateway lineups. Soon we will also tackle the remaining manufacturers, as well as adding DGA and Aerobie to the guide.

I know, you want to know what equipment reviews we're working on. Well we reviewed two portable baskets as well as a stack of new plastic. We hope to have these done and ready some time in the next couple of weeks so keep checking back!

Disc Guide Update and Site Information  (06/24/03)

I hate to say it but, the tournament section is going to be down for an unknown period of time. We decided that it wasn't quite ready yet, so we took it off line.

I did however start updating the disc guide! I have gone through and updated the Discraft discs and will soon be moving on to the other manufacturers. I don't have all my pictures yet for these new discs but I hope to have some soon.

Also, keep an eye out for some new product reviews. We will be reviewing the following:

  • Quadshocks
  • Gateway Tour Bag
  • Gateway Player Bag
  • Innova Champion Beast
  • Innova Champion Starfire
  • Gateway "E" Sabre
  • Ching Skill Shot portable basket
And whatever else we can get our hands on. Should be an interesting month of July!

NEW DiscGolferUSA Scorekeeper!  (10/01/02)

When you log in, you will find something new! DiscGolferUSA would now like you to tell us what division you play in. This will help out our new scorekeeper function. With this new feature, you will be able to track your scores of all the rounds that you play. Learn about your average scores for the courses you play and more. New statistics about your rounds will become available in the weeks to come. Check out the forum for details and suggestions.
